PROGRESSIVE BALLET TECHNIQUE
WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION
The workshop program of "Progressive Ballet Techniques" (Marie Walton-Mahon) is based on raising
awareness and initiating the work of deep inner muscles that allow dancers of all dance styles (and
especially dancers of classical ballet and contemporary dance) to "come in contact" with their deep
unconscious muscles. These exercises will help activate the same, and therefore improve the dance
technique and the ability of the body and its expression. The techniques are performed with the use
of props and respect for the principles of Pilates and Yoga, which reaffirms the importance of
introducing and intertwining the various principles, skills and knowledge in the course of
perfecting each dancer, at all levels.
The workshop will be held for the purpose of establishing a classical ballet course with an emphasis
on the PBT program as a regular offer of the educational program of the School of Natural Movement
in Zadar.
