LECTURE DESCRIPTION

The human body is a biological oscillator (vibrating body) with a brain (a complex system of electrical vibrations) and a heart, an organ full of electrical voltage. Any attempt to separate one from the other is as wrong as natural (typical) for man.
According to Antonio Damasio and his neuroscientific thesis "the connection between emotions and reason, in which feelings are the basis for rational contemplation and normal social behavior", was the initial idea that led the choreographer to the Neuron Polyclinic in Zagreb in order to purify the idea for the creation of HUMAN ERROR. Magnetic resonance imaging (MR) uses strong magnetic fields to align atomic nuclei in body tissues, and this lecture represents the professional field of work of radiologist Dr. Milan Radoš who, in collaboration with Marija Šćekić, addressed the following questions:

  • - Can music talent be objectively analyzed through fMRI?
  • - What is the emotional activity of the brain during creative processes?
  • - What happens in a dancer's brain when he / she imagines a performance on the go?
  • - How does art affect the biology of the human brain?
  • - Are there biological indicators of beauty?
  • - What are the evolutionary roots of art?
  • - What is the relationship between cognitive and emotional processes in the human brain while creating, performing and experiencing a work of art?

ABOUT THE PRESENTERS

Milan Radoš has been an Assistant Professor at the Croatian Institute for Brain Research since 1998 and Head of the Laboratory for Functional Imaging of the Neuron Clinic in Zagreb with a PhD at MgGill University in Montreal, Canada. Main field of interest: Functional magnetic resonance imaging and tractography.
Marija Šćekić holds a Bachelor of Arts in Choreography and Contemporary Dance from Concordia University in Montreal, Canada. She has been the founder and presenter of Histeria Nova since 2005.
